It is one of Quincy's most cherished possessions, The Log Cabin Village on Quinsippi Island. If you haven't been there for a while, then make Saturday the day you go as the 10th Annual Frontier Settlement Day will take place. The event will be held from 11 to 4 pm at the Log Cabin Village on the Island. There will be pioneer games for all, wool spinning, chair caning, blacksmiths, felt hat making and rug making. Tours of the cabins will also be held and a chance for you to get a “selfie” with Abraham Lincoln. Lunch will also be available thanks to the American Legion Post 37 Auxiliary.

This is a perfect opportunity to take the whole family to see the newly renovated cabins and find out the stories behind them.  It is amazing to me that the pioneers of our great country actually lived like they did in some horrible weather conditions. Those pioneers were definitely tougher than we are now. Very few of us could do what they did.

They did what they had to do to survive. Here is your chance to hear and see their story this Saturday. For more info, go to logcabinvillagequincyil.com.
