The Quincy Park District is inviting the public to attend a Bridge Committee meeting to comment and ask questions about the course of action to be taken with the Quinsippi Island Bridge.

The Quincy Park District (Q.P.D.) is facing a dilemma. Where do they come up with the money needed to replace the Quinsippi Island Bridge. The bridge is in need of costly repairs or total replacement. A new bridge could cost as much as $5 million.

Potential costs of repairing the current bridge would be in the neighborhood of $700 thousand. That would repair one of the five bridge piers that has been determined to be in poor condition. With time, the other four piers will most likely need repair as well.

The Bridge Committee meeting will be held at the Quincy Park District offices at 1231 Bonansinga Drive at 6 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, November 4.

For more information on the Quinsippi Island Bridge repair plan, contact Rome Frericks, the Q.P.D. Executive Director at 223-7703 or visit www.quincyparkdistrict.com.
