QFD Awards Eight Fire Escape Ladders

The Quincy Fire Department has announced the names of the 8 winners of fire escape ladders given away by the Fire Department.  The winners names were drawn from all the registrants from the Fire Prevention Week Kickoff event at the Quincy Mall held on October 19th.

The winners were:

Charles Watson

Pete Dinklage

Hope Wade

These ladders will offer a second option to escape from a second floor sleeping area if the door is blocked by smoke or fire.   As part of the Fire prevention Month, Firefighters visited all schools in Quincy to talk about the importance of fire safety to 3rd and 5th graders.
