Memorial Day on my hometown of Pittsfield, Illinois was spectacular. Why? Because of volunteers.

I went to my home town over the holiday weekend to see my mother and spend some time with her. And I knew that every year on Memorial day weekend, volunteers placed big american flags around the courthouse. But this year, the flags somehow looked even more spectacular. The red, white and blue flags that were placed around the courthouse just jumped out at you. Many people stopped by to take pictures of the grand site. Plus, there were huge american flags placed along the city cemetery drive way. It was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine which made the red, white and blue flags stand out even more. I am so proud of my hometown and the way they honor America. THANK YOU Pittsfield for never forgetting.
