I am not a person who gets all revved up in politics, but two things have me boiling.

I just don't know where America is heading. I love this country. It is the greatest in the world and I am so proud to be an American. Call me old-fashioned, but this country is slipping away from all of us who deeply care about it. And who do you think is getting a bad rap? America's children.

Here are two examples and both of these deal with children:

Example number 1. This happened in Vancouver, Washington where kid Christmas carolers reportedly were booted off a grocery store's property over fears they'd offend customers. Two kids apparently showed up to a WinCo grocery store recently in Vancouver to sing Christmas songs for customers, but a store employee reportedly booted the girls off the WinCo property. The children said that they just wanted to give a warm fuzzy feeling to anyone who walked by. They sang both secular and religious songs including 'Jingle Bell Rock' and 'Silent Night.'

Example number 2. This came from a school district in Colorado where a 6, yes I said a 6-year-old was suspended for planting a kiss on a classmate's cheek. The 6-year-old was suspended this past Monday for giving her that kiss. Now, the school has been inundated with phone calls demanding the district expunge the allegation of SEXUAL HARASSMENT  from the boys record. A woman who answered phone calls at the Cannon City School District said the office is "very busy" dealing with some callers who are being hateful.

These calls stem from Hunter Yelton, a student at the Lincoln School of Science and Technology, being accused of sexual harassment that Canon City Officials want on his school record. A School District RE-1 official said the repeat offenses meet the school policy definition of sexual harassment and they hope the tough standards will force the boy to change his behavior. Hunter says that they "sent me to the office, fair and square. I did something wrong and I feel sorry." Yelton's mother wants sexual harassment removed from his record. Hunter was suspended once before for kissing the girl and had disciplinary problems, but the girl did not object to being kissed.

I just shake my head and hope things change for the better.Or will it get worse? That is up to us. God bless America. Thank you for letting me rant. Sometimes you just have to.
