Justice For Coach Dave Swisegood

It took all of a matter of a few hours to accomplish what should have been done four years ago.  The name of Dave Swisegood sits atop the list of high school baseball coaches with the record for the most all time wins in the State of Illinois according to the Illinois High School Association.

After contacting the IHSA yesterday and leaving a message alerting them that the record needed updating and writing a blog about what I considered an injustice to Coach Swisegood, I was contacted by my friend Craig "Toad" Orr who informed me last night that it had been corrected.

I was shocked that it happened so quickly. Craig was the one who let me know about the incorrect listing and I told him I would check into it. He also informed me that people had been contacting the IHSA about it for quite some time to no avail.

I have been reading the Facebook comments about my blog and I appreciate all the thanks, but they should go to Craig.  Without him contacting me, I would not have even known about it.  If my call and subsequent blog made it happen, then great. I am just glad that this great coach and man finally is where he belongs, on top of the list as the winningist all-time baseball coach in the State of Illinois.

Four years is a long time to wait but to me after what happened yesterday, I feel he broke the record all over again. Way to go Coach Swisegood!
