After a 120 year run the Ellington Church Strawberry Festival will come to an end after the last serving on Monday, May 29. The "Grand Finale" of the festival was realized after it became apparent that other competing events and a lack of manpower on a holiday made it difficult to continue the tradition.

The last Ellington Strawberry Festival will take place Monday from 4 to 6:30 that afternoon. The menu includes chicken salad, just rites, potato salad, potato chips, strawberries, shortcake, sundaes, and homemade cakes. The County Store opens at 3:30 p.m. and features a wide variety of home-baked items.

When that last strawberry is consumed and the lights are turned off, all we will have is memories.  Thanks for 120 years of fellowship and enjoyment.
