Upcoming Fall Events With the Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department
Fall has arrived, and the Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department is ready for a number of fall events. Fall is a great time to get out of the house and enjoy the cool autumn weather and Hannibal Parks and Rec has many upcoming activities for you to try.
Indoor Archery
6:30-9 p.m. Wednesdays at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center
Must bring own equipment
Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by adult (free)
Parents as Teachers Discovery Time
9:30-11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17 at Kiwanis Park
Fall-related activities and scavenger hunt for children up to 5 years old (free)
Shakespeare in the Park
2 p.m. Saturday Oct. 18 at Nipper Park
Free performance of “Quick Brewed Macbeth”
by Hannibal-LaGrange University theater students (free)
Pink in the Park
8 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 18 in Central Park
Bounce house, face-painting, baked goods, pumpkins, t–shirts
Shooter’s Education
6:30 p.m.-9 p.m. Thursday at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center

Balloon release honoring cancer patients
Pumpkins in the Park

Learn to play Pickleball
7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 18 at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center
Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and ping pong
fun for all ages and levels

Toddler Tuesdays
9-11 a.m. Tuesdays at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center
This is not a babysitting service
Each adult is allowed to bring no more than four children and must sign in with the attendant (free)
Huckleberry Ramp Park
Open 3:45 p.m. to dark weekdays, noon to dark weekends
Roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, bicycles and scooters allowed
Helmets are required and available for rent
Indoor Walking
Admiral Coontz Recreation Center is open for walkers
12 laps equal 1 mile
Indoor Activities
Games, puzzles and Imagination Playground blocks for all-inclusive indoor play for adults and children
Admiral Coontz Recreation Center gymnasium and Play Without Boundaries Sensory Room
7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
Senior Adult Dances
Celebrate the 40th year for Senior Adult Dances
Noon to 3 p.m. Wednesdays at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center

Disc Golf
Huckleberry Park 18-hole course is open during daytime hours
Discs are for sale at the Ramp Park but Frisbees can be used just as easily
Dog Park
The Dempsey Dog Park at Sixth and Ely Streets has separate areas for small and large dogs
Brand new agility equipment just installed
Open every day from dawn to dusk
