The fairs are everywhere and that is a great thing, because they don't last long.

They are here and then they are gone until next year. When I was just a kid, it seemed like everything was so big at the fair. The rides, the shows ,even the people were big at the fair. I can remember at one of the fairs, my parents took me to something like a haunted house kind of thing. I remember it was at night time and the teenagers were all running out of the haunted house because it was so scary inside. I remember one girl was crying so bad that her dad had to come and get here and take her home.

But the best fair I went to was the one just up the road from my home in Pittsfield. My mom and dad would take me to the Western Illinois Fair in Griggsville. They always brought in a daredevil show. Back then, we waited for summer to get here so we could see the show. It would consist of 8 new cars ,all of them painted white. It was called the Joie Chitwood Thrill Show. They did stunts that were so awesome like one car going over another car in mid air. I loved being there. I don't think anybody does that anymore.

You never know what you will see at the fairs. I hope you get a chance to visit at least one fair, this summer, and make some memories.
