Washington Park in Quincy

Tomorrow night the second of seven Blues in the District concerts will be held at Washington Park in Quincy this time featuring a local group, The King Bees. For the first time in a long time, The Blues in the District will welcome a Quincy Band which is a testimony to their talent.

The first 2014 Lunch in the Park with Mayor Kyle Moore is set for June 24th from 12 to 1pm in Washington Park at 5th and Maine Streets.  This is the first in a series of three summer lunches that will be scheduled during 2014.

Fans of the Blues in the District, your wait is over as Rockin' Jake will take to the stage tonight at 5:30 to perform in the first concert of the summer. The District (formerly known as the Historic Quincy Business District) has put together another great lineup this season.

It is a sure sign of spring as the Historic Quincy Business District announced that Tuesday, May 13, will be the opening day of the Quincy Farmer's Market in Washington Park.

As the weather warms, I start thinking about sitting next to "My Rock" during Blues in the District in Washington Park. The first performance of the year in what has become a Quincy tradition will be on June 13 .
