Quincy Senior High School

The employment of Sean Taylor as head basketball coach of the Quincy Senior High Blue Devils came to an end this morning. The Quincy School Board voted to remove him, according to Quincy Herald-Whig. School Board President Stephanie Erwin made the announcement after the board voted 6 to nothing to remove Taylor from his basketball position.

The Peoria Civic Center will be the stage for Quincy Senior High School's Gabby Green who will perform the National Anthem prior to the Class 1A and 2A Boys Basketball finals this Saturday, March 15.

Big pat on the back to the Quincy Junior High Student Leaders. They are hosting a Senior Citizen Holiday Luncheon at the Junior High on Friday, December 20 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

It is hard to believe but this Saturday the 6th Annual Veteran's Parade will be held in Quincy with nearly 80 entries ready to go down Maine Street beginning at 10am. I remember meeting with the parade chairmen Jim Ponsot and Dick McKinney five years ago to discuss putting on the first parade.  We had no idea how many entries we would have but to see it nearing 80 this year is fabulous.

I look forward to this event every year and I always see something different. You know Santa is on his way when the Holiday Gift Show and Sale comes to Quincy!

Students at Quincy Senior High School will experience the "Road to Reality."

A few weeks ago the Quincy Senior High soccer team put a 'Call Me Maybe' video on YouTube. Now it appears the QHS teachers have decided to make a video of their own!

School is about three weeks away from starting and the school parking lot reconstruction at Quincy Senior High School has been in full swing this summer.
