This Saturday the Bridge the Gap walk run event will take place for the benefit of the Quincy Catholic Charities Med-Assist program. We hear of all the fun that the event is but it certainly is not fun for people who need medications and can't afford it.
During the holiday season, we're all a little more mindful of helping out those that are in need. We do so by dropping our extra change - or even a few bills - into the Salvation Army's red kettles, donating to toy drives like Load the Lobby and Toys for Tots, or volunteering time to serve Christmas dinners to our neighbors who would otherwise be alone at Christmastime.
It is well documented the shortages food pantries are experiencing not only in this area but also around the country and the world as well. Well, once again, when there is a need DOT Foods stepped up to the plate (no pun intended).
