Sen. John Sullivan (D-Rushville) will be at the Oakley-Lindsay Civic Center from 8 to 9 a.m. on Monday, April 21, to discuss issues impacting businesses including minimum wage, a progressive income tax, and worker’s compensation reform.
April 5 is the date for this year's Wing Fest at the Oakley Lindsay Center in Quincy. The event is family-oriented, and will offer a full day of entertainment. Not only will there be plenty of wings, but also live music.
I drove across the Bayview Bridge in Quincy last Sunday and as I did I couldn't help but notice the numerous Bald Eagles that were perched on the icebergs in the river and in the trees along the river. All chomping at the "beak" to secure their next meal of fish. Is it me or are you also seeing more of these fabulous birds this year?
Quincy has been blessed with many Christmas activities over the years and one of the favorites is the Symphony of Trees event. It has been held over the years at The Oakley Lindsay Center, as well as The Ambiance, but it will not be held this year.
The votes are in and the next phase of the Best of the Road Contest is about to begin for all the finalist cities, of which Quincy is one! The Mayor's office sent out a news release today thanking everyone who voted for the City of Quincy in the past weeks.
Tonight wraps up Y101's 101 Day's of Summer promotion and someone will be leaving the Oakley Lindsay Center a very happy person, because they will have won a trip to Mexico!
