‘Elvin Tappe Lane’ at Q.U. Stadium Needs to Happen

In January of 2013 the Quincy Park District announced that their new park on Bonansinga Drive would be known as Lincoln Park. The Park District had asked the public to submit names to be considered and you can’t go wrong with the name of Lincoln. I had submitted the name of Elvin Tappe. So Elvin lost out to Lincoln, but so did Steven Douglas.

What “Walk-Up” Song Fits the Big Dog?

I have no idea how I happened to be on so many people's birthday list but thank you for all of the birthday wishes I have been receiving today.  Birthdays are fun and they make you reflect on things you have done in the past.  There are two things I have always wanted to do in my life and I am lucky to say that I have done them both.

The 27th Annual Teddy Bear Clinic is This Sunday

The 27th Annual Teddy Bear Clinic will be held this Sunday afternoon from noon to 3 p.m. at Blessing Hospital's main entrance. As the founder of this event 27 years ago, the staff at Blessing Riemann College of Nursing was kind enough to name one of two new gigantic Teddy Bears after me last year.  He is known as the "Dorsey Bear" and the other is known as "Flo" after Florence Nightingale. If you missed them last year, both bears will be there this Sunday.

Hey, Fireworks Face!

I was reading a Time Magazine when I came across in bold print the following....$81.29. It caught my eye and I read on to find out that for $81.29 one can buy a 200 rocket fireworks package that will explode and form the shape of the buyers face. It would also be visible from up to 20 miles.
