The Grand Opening of the 33rd Season of the Quincy Farmer’s Market in The District will take place this Saturday. The market will be held at Washington Park and on Hampshire Street between 4th and 5th Streets.

Local vendors will be set-up and ready to sell everything from crafts and flowers to fresh produce. The Quincy Farmer’s Market will run every Saturday morning through October 10. The hours will be from 7 a.m. until 12 Noon.

The Quincy Farmer’s Market draws vendors and customers from all over the Tri-State area and continues to be one of the area’s best markets. A featured vendor on Saturday is fresh shrimp from the Shrimp Shack in Mendon, Illinois. The Shrimp Shack will be displaying the fresh shrimp and you will be able to sample some of the delicious shrimp. The Shack is an indoor, saltwater shrimp farm raising Pacific White shrimp in a controlled environment. Also, customers will be able to sign up to win a 1lb of fresh shrimp.

Again this year, the Quincy Farmers Market will be accepting Credit, Debit and EBT (SNAP). Special activities planned for the Grand Opening include face painters for the kids, live music, Farmers Market Bucks giveaways and much more. Vendors are still being accepted.
