There are a lot of ways to describe hail in Missouri. The more intense storms have quarter-size or maybe even baseball-size hail, but the most recent storm dropped what is described as "gorilla hail" and storm chasers captured wild videos of the event.

Severe thunderstorms canvased Kansas and eventually Missouri late into Wednesday night, March 13, 2024. The National Desk shared video from within those Missouri thunderstorms that brought severe hail.

KSN TV was tracking a tornado that moved through eastern Kansas before that storm system eventually brought big hail to Missouri including many travelers on I-70 in the state.

Many in the Kansas City, Missouri area captured video of the hail that caused some damage to vehicles and homes in that part of the state.

Not to say I told you so, but I did warn a few days ago that the storms later this week had the potential for big hail and that's also true for what's making its way through Missouri today (Thursday) as of this writing. We're in the strange weather part of the year where we're still transitioning from brief periods of cold weather and warm air which breeds these types of severe storms.

It's just Missouri weather being Missouri weather.
