There is no doubt that Rush Limbaugh is a famous personality. The native of Cape Girardeau has been in radio for years and has become the most listened to radio talk show host for years. He is very intelligent, but can be inflammatory at times... most of which is fabricated for ratings purposes. Few people know he also worked for the Kansas City Royals for a short time in their front office. Fewer people know that it was Limbaugh who indirectly got me fired from WTAD. He was an unknown but rising talk show host when I was asked to get him signed on to be a part of WTAD's radio programming. When I made the call he had already signed on with KHMO. When my boss found that out I was history. That's the short version of a very long story. In any case, Limbaugh has infuriated many with his comments over the years but despite it all he is still a famous Missourian. So famous he was just inducted into the Hall of Famous Missourians. Until now, that hall has had little problems with security, but it was revealed that the facility has just installed an $1100 security camera to protect the new bust of Limbaugh. A cost absorbed by Missouri Taxpayers. So if you like Rush being in the hall, it probably is no big deal but if you don't like him, your paying to make sure he stays in the hall.
