It's funny, if you sit back and watch the things that go on around you, you'll get a whole new perspective on those things. It seems like everyone in January starts the year off with a resolution of "I am going to lose weight." That's all well and good, but as anyone trying to lose weight will tell you, it's easier said than done. There are all kinds of things to drag you back into caloric intake.

Watching TV, for instance. I was watching TV the other night when the commercials came on. The first one was for a local fitness place where they were showing people working out. No sooner did it end and a fast food commercial came on showing someone devouring a double burger with cheese dripping over the sides of it.

Then yesterday, I was listening to the radio and a radio commercial came on suggesting people sign up for a membership at a local gym. When the commercial ended the announcer came on promoting a pancake and sausage event with a menu of all you can eat pancakes, sausages and biscuits and gravy. What is one to do?

One answer is both. Eat all you want and then work out in the gym until the cows come home. Dis someone say cows?  That's cheese, ice cream and milkshakes.  see what I mean?
