A little league coach pulled one of his nine-year-old players aside during a game and asked, "do you understand what cooperation is? What a team is?"

The little boy nodded yes.

"Do you understand that if we win or lose, we win or lose as a team?"

The little boy again nodded yes.

"I'm sure you know that when an out is called in a baseball game you should not argue, curse, attack the umpire or call him stupid. You do understand all that, right?"

Again, the little boy nodded yes.

"And when I take you out of the game so that other boys get a chance to play it's not good sportsmanship to call you coach dumb, is it?"

The little boy nodded that he understood.

"Good. Go over there and explain this to your grandmother."
