It is not every day that you can get a nice price on a bridge. This may be your lucky day.

The bridge over Big Calumet Creek on Missouri 79 just north of Clarksville, in Pike County, Missouri is planned to be replaced this summer and because it is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. Local governments, historical societies or other interested groups may have the opportunity to purchase the bridge for adaptive reuse purposes.

The bridge was built in 1936 by Deering and Davidson out of St. Louis for just over $100.000. It features a pony truss with four approach spans and is 22 feet wide. MoDOT'S HIstoric Preservation Section is now accepting proposals for the relocation and reuse of the bridge or it's components until April 17,2015.

So there you have it. You can own this bridge. Go to www.modot.org/freebridges for info.
