OK, let the debate begin, but for my money daughters are the greatest. I say that because my daughter has a birthday today. I'd say it the other 364 days of the year as well. I didn't want to wake her this morning, so I text her telling her that her birth was the greatest thing that ever happen to me and I meant every word of it.

We haven't always seen eye to eye on things over the years but I can't be more pleased with how she has turned out. She is married and has managed to give me six beautiful grandchildren, four boys and two girls. She is absolutely fabulous as a mom with them as well.

I remember her birth at Blessing Hospital. She arrived during a snowstorm.  It was a snowstorm that prevented me from being in Rock Island to broadcast a Blue Devil-Rocks basketball game which was cancelled that afternoon. Had that not happened, I would have missed her birth. See, God has a reason for everything he does. I remember that day like it was yesterday.

As the yesterdays go by this proud father counts his blessings each day for the family I have. Happy birthday Jennifer. Your dad loves you more than you will ever know. I just wanted you and the rest of the world to know that as well.
