It is time to get moving and help people in need in our community. That is where the Bridge The Gap To Health Race comes into play. This year's race will be on Saturday, May 17.

Since 2001, Bridge The Gap, in conjunction with the QCC MedAssist Program, assisted over 4289 patients to obtain over 45,781 prescriptions at a value of over $16.5 million. 97% of the patients indicated that their quality of life has been either sustained or enhanced since becoming a patient in the program. Bridge The Gap has been there for those patients.

And now, Bridge The Gap To Health Race has made a huge move that will bring many people up to Uptown Quincy. Yes, the runners will go over the bridges as usual, but now instead of going on North Bottom Road, runners will now run through uptown Quincy. This change is huge for Bridge The Gap because people who do not get down to the river for the event can see the runners on the streets of Quincy.

Bridge the Gap features a walking and running Half Marathon, Walking and Running 10K and Running 5K beginning at 8 a.m. The 5K Leisure Walk begins at 8:15. The Children's Fun Run begins at 9:30.

As usual, the gathering point for the race will be at Clatt Adams Park In Quincy. It is a morning of great friendships, athletic ability and family fun. It could not happen anywhere else but Quincy Illinois. And don't forget, the 2014 Race Marshal is Jackie Joyner-Kersee.
