Of all of this nation's great ambassadors, few manage to bring as much joy and entertainment to faces young and old as the world famous Harlem Globetrotters. Now, this outrageously talented team of hoopsters has set their sights on a new destination-- Quincy, IL.
As many of us are preparing this week to celebrate the Christmas holiday, we are decorating Christmas trees with various pretty things, buying presents for our friends and family, and baking and preparing enough food to feed an invading army twice over.
Major work gets underway Monday, Dec. 7, on the Bowling Green square. It all starts with replacement of sidewalk entrances at the curbs on the northwest side near the Hope Center. The project also calls for replacing sidewalk entrances and storm water drains on the southeast corner near the insurance agency, on the northeast side by the post office and along Court Street to the southwest corner near the flower shop.
On October 24, the Office of the Adams County Sheriff was made aware of a new scam involving utility companies. In this new operation, the scammers will pose as representatives of a legitimate utility company and will call a customer telling them that they have an outstanding bill that must be paid immediately or their services will be shut off.
