The first-ever Great Outdoors Show opened its doors at the Oakley Lindsay Center in Quincy on Saturday morning. One of the highlights of the show is the first Quincy appearance of the nationally-known canine aquatics competition, DockDogs.
YouTube is full of prank videos. Some are very funny, some are very lame. As a fan of the Friday the 13th movies, I thought this one was well done, and brilliant in its simplicity. Basically, someone puts on a hockey mask, grabs a machete, then scares unsuspecting campers to death. Not literally. But close.
Have you ever watched a show like The Walking Dead and thought, "I wonder what it would be like if that happened here?" Hannibal author John L. Davis IV is hard at work on American Revenant, a series that brings the zombie apocalypse to America's Hometown.
YouTube is full of fun and quirky videos, and many of them were made right here in our area. We decided to randomly search YouTube for local town names, just to see what would come up. Here are a few videos we found.
I was searching for videos about Hannibal on YouTube, and came across something that I thought was pretty interesting. This video, called 'USA Hannibal MO 1981' shows a good bit of Hannibal from over 30 years ago.
We've been doing Throwback Thursdays on Y101 for the past several weeks. It's been a fun way to play some music that we haven't had on the radio in years. Most of our listeners seem to dig it (throwback phrase!). If you're a fan of the Throwback Thursday music - which we refuse to call "oldies" - here's a concert coming to the state capital you might enjoy.
If you've listened to the radio at all over the past year, there's a good chance you had "All About That Bass" stuck in your head at least a couple times ... at least! Not to mention "Lips Are Movin." 21-year-old singer/songwriter/music sensation Meghan Trainor will be in St. Louis this summer for a concert at The Pageant. Ticketmaster's ticket pre-sale begins Thursday, March 19.
We had a great time Saturday during the St. Patrick's Parade in Quincy. Maine Street was packed! We were able to get pictures of a ton of people along the parade route. If you went to the parade, see if we got a shot of you and your family and friends!
