If you have ever flown you have had to ask yourself, "who came up with these airport destination code letters?" Some are obvious and others are way out there. Perhaps the guy or gal who came up with these codes had a long layover someplace and just jotted down letters to cities over a few hundred beers.

The code for Quincy's airport is at least close. It's QUI, which makes sense. A couple of others that make sense include St. Louis which is STL and Chicago's Midway Airport which is MDW. So here is a test to see if you can guess these.

What airport is designated as MCI?

What airport is designated as ORD?

What airport is designated as APF?

What airport is designated as PIE?

What airport is designated as CVG?

Your answers in order are: Kansas City, Chicago O'Hare, Naples, Florida, Clearwater/St. Petersburg, Florida and Cincinnati.

How well did you do?  No wonder luggage sometimes ends up in Katmandu.
