After a year off, the Hannibal Jaycees have announced that their Zombie Run will make a return to America's Hometown in 2015. The 2015 Zombie Run will be on Saturday, October 10.

Registration is now available on the Hannibal Jaycees Haunted House website. The run is a 5K that will begin at 6 p.m.

The Zombie Run started in Hannibal in 2012 as a fundraiser to help pay for the new building and property that was purchased by the Jaycees on South Third Street, which is also the home the Hannibal Jaycees Haunted House.

Jennifer Foster was the chair of the inaugural Zombie Run, and she told us that it was overwhelmingly successful in its debut year. "The Zombie Run was a great success for our first year.  We had over 100 runners, great weather and lots of volunteer zombies. Most importantly, if it wasn’t for our sponsorships, we wouldn’t have been able to pull it off.  Plus, the purchase of our new building in downtown Hannibal made a great location to hold this event."

There was a second Zombie Run in 2013, but the event did not take place last year.

The Hannibal Jaycees have also opened this year's Warehouse of Nightmares Haunted House. It is open every Friday and Saturday night in October from 7:30 to midnight. "Nightmares in 3D" will be new to the Warehouse of Nightmares in 2015, in addition to an attraction called "The Last Ride." Zombie Paintball will return for its second year at the Hannibal Jaycees Haunted House.
