If we keep it up, there will be specific names for every single day in the holiday shopping season. It starts with Black Friday, then there's Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. I also heard something this year about "Green Monday," but I'm not sure what that is, exactly. The latest day name that I read about made me laugh. "Panic Saturday," the last Saturday before Christmas.

RetailMeNot announced in the latest edition of its Shoppers Trend Report that over half of shoppers will have not completed their Christmas shopping by the time Panic Saturday rollls around. They also report that 18% of shoppers say they won't even start their Christmas shopping until that time! In a statistic that will surprise no one, men are more likely than women to procrastinate when it comes to Christmas shopping.

The biggest reasons for putting off holiday shopping? According to RetailMeNot, the number one reason is simply not knowing what to get for a specific person, followed by receiving an unexpected gift, and feeling the need to reciprocate. Plain old forgetfulness is also somewhat common.

We hope your holiday shopping is a stress free as possible this year, and we hope you get everything you want for Christmas. Remember, if you get through Panic Saturday and still haven't finished your shopping, there's always a gift card. That's an acceptable gift, right?
