Glenn Jacobs, better known as the wrestler “Kane”, has announced a run for mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. Jacobs is a libertarian who first hinted at a political run last July.

In his first political commercial, posted April 11, an unmasked Jacobs pledges to work with local businesses and teachers and to “fight to keep government small and to keep our taxes low.”

Keen-eyed Deadspin points out the symbolism in Jacob’s logo and slogan—“Lighting the Way For Our Future”—noting that for years, fire has traditionally played a key role in his wrestling persona.

According to Wikipedia, Kane, whom WWE.com describes as “a monstrous abomination that seems to have been extracted directly from your childhood nightmares”, won 23 championships and is a three-time world champion during his professional wrestling career.
