The "Ides" of November is expected to be a snowy one in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the area from 9 a.m. until midnight Saturday.

Forecasters say snowfall will begin in the morning in central Missouri, moving into northeast Missouri and west central Illinois by Saturday afternoon. As of Friday morning, predictions are calling for anywhere from one to three inches of snow to fall in the area before it tapers off Saturday night.

Motorists are advised to be careful on bridges, overpasses and untreated roads. Parking lots and sidewalks could also be slippery.

After the snow passes, the frigid temperatures will continue, with highs finally getting to 40 degrees by midweek.
