A couple of weeks ago I received my copy of the The Old Farmers Almanac.

I will give you the bad news first. According to the Almanac, the winter of 2014 and 2015 is expected to be another cold one in the eastern half to two-thirds of the nation. Snowfall will be above normal. So get ready again to bundle up! Stock up on the soup in the house and get the firewood ready by the door. The Almanac says this will be a year of extremes, and that doesn't sound good.

When spring finally comes in 2015, the weather will be above normal temperature. Summer temps will be above normal, as well. If you want some good news, the Almanac says the hurricane season will not be particularly active (which doesn't make much of a difference for us, but at least it's good news for somebody).

Whatever the weather does in the next few months, we will battle it all the way. So get your snow boots ready and warm up the soup. Winter will be back again.
