The Adams County Health Department is asking for your help in donating your quality used children's books to a campaign called "Reading: A Healthy Habit." Through your donations to this program, thousands of Adams County children will receive a free book to take home each time they visit the Adams County Health Department.

It has been proven that developing the habit of reading as a child helps with future academic success. According to the Center for Disease Control, academic success is an excellent indicator of the well being of youth and a primary indicator of good health for adults in later life.

If you have books you would like to donate just drop them off at the Adams County Health Department located at 330 Vermont Street or call 222-8440. This campaign is a combined effort of the Adams County Health Department, the Quincy Public Library, and the Regional Office of Education #1.
