How many times have you told yourself, “man, I just want to stay here in bed”? Well your chance may be here and you might get paid thousands of dollars to do so. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration or NASA is looking to hire people to lay in bed for 70 consecutive days and they will pay you $18,000 to do so.

People are needed for a NASA experiment to simulate extended periods of time of space travel where the body has to deal with extreme atrophy or organ degeneration from lack of use.

Those hired by NASA are allowed to entertain themselves however they want as long as they don’t get up during the 70 day period of time. This includes food, games, movies, reading, you name it.

NASA’s study would go a long way in the quest to get humans on Mars which would involve an extremely long journey of some 7 months. To qualify for the test, NASA is looking for physically and psychologically fit people who might be up (or lie down) to the task.

Not everyone will be able to tolerate the inactivity needed for the test so NASA will also take all initial qualifiers and put them through physical and mental testing plus do rigorous physical exercises to test muscle strength NASA basically wants people who have the physical and psychological characteristics of an astronaut.

Think you can do it? Seventy days is a long time.
