A ceremony to dedicate a bridge in the name of Quincy City Alderman Virgil Goehl will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 29.

Mayor Kyle Moore, City Council members, local officials, Alderman Goehl, his family and friends will be on hand as the City of Quincy dedicates the 5th Street Bridge in Goehl's name for his 22 years of service to the City. Goehl was instrumental in the drive to rebuild the bridge.

The City passed a resolution in August of 2014 to name the bridge after Goehl. During the ceremony, there will be a presentation of a plaque by the City to Alderman Goehl. That plaque will be unveiled at the Northwest side of the bridge during the ceremony which is open to the public.
