Two Jacksonville residents are taken into custody in Pike County, Illinois on meth charges.

Law enforcement officials stopped a vehicle on Interstate 72 at 4:17 a.m. Tuesday. A search of the vehicle revealed a large amount of methamphetamine. An investigation indicated the meth had crossed state lines.

Arrested for meth trafficking were 25-year-old Kouri Woods and 25-year-old Justin Rawlings, both of Jacksonville.

A second vehicle was stopped and three others were detained pending further investigation.

Woods and Rawlings are scheduled to appear in Pike County Circuit Court in Pittsfield November 24.
