Four different airlines submitted bids to the U.S. Department of Transportation for the Essential Air Service (E.A.S.) program in Quincy. The DOT requested the City submit a recommendation for the bid that best fits the city’s needs. The Quincy Aeronautics Committee will be hosting two Town Hall meetings to hear from each airline and provide time for the public comments and questions.

The Town Hall schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, July 24 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber. Representatives from Air Choice One and Boutique Air will be in attendance.

Thursday, July 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. Representatives from Cape Air and SkyWest Airlines will be in attendance.

Each airline at both sessions will be asked to give a 15 minute  presentation and allow for 30 minutes of questions from the committee, council, and public.

On Wednesday, July 31, the Aeronautics Committee will hold a special meeting at 12:00 noon Council Chambers at City Hall to discuss and vote on a recommendation.  The final recommendation for the next E.A.S. contract is due to the Department of Transportation on or before August 9.

All who have an interest in the air service at Quincy Regional Airport are asked to participate. The full bids of each airline can be viewed at www.regulations.gov under docket number DOT-OST-2000-7881.
