The Quincy Junior High’s Morrison Theater will be one fabulous place to be on Saturday May 4, especially if you like the music of the late Tom Petty.

The Free Fallin' tribute band will make a stop in Quincy during their Legacy Tour performing that night at 7 p.m. As a celebration of 50 years of Dogwood in Quincy, this premiere tribute band will play the greatest hits of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. The concert is presented by Friends of the Washington Theater. All proceeds will go towards the renovation of the Washington Theater on Hampshire Street in Quincy.

The concert is the first of several major fundraising events this year for the Washington Theater. A Big Band event hosted by Hansen-Spear is slated for September 27th and the Rocky Horror picture show is on tap for October.

Tickets for the May 4 concert go on sale April 1 and are $25 for general admission and $30 for reserved seating. Tickets can be purchased at HyVee and County Market stores in Quincy plus Second String Music at 5th & Maine. Tickets can also be purchased on-line on the Washington Theater’s web site www.quincywashingtontheater.org  and will also be available at the door.

Prior to the start of Free Fallin, the Quincy High School Jazz Band will perform.
