Want to go to the Illinois State Fair and save some money? Well, now you can (plus you get a bonus treat for the family).

In an effort to help families have a little fun together this summer, the Illinois State Fair is once again bringing back their Double Play promotion. Basically, you can go the the fair, and visit the the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum for one price.

The ticket promotion allows families to get half-price adult admission to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, and half-price adult admission to the fair. If you are interested in the promotion, you better act fast as tickets will likely sell out.

The tickets to enjoy both the fair and the museum (for adults) are $12 and only available for a limited time. You can purchase Double Play tickets at the Emmerson Building on the state fairgrounds (Monday – Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm) and at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (Monday-Friday 9 am  -4 pm).

Since I have not been to either the State Fair or the museum, I might have to purchase some tickets this year. Maybe the girls will learn something too. I think that's the best part; you get to have fun at a fair and learn something too. Win-win!

The Illinois State Fair is August 9 – August 19 in Springfield, Illinois.
