Three Quincy Girls Qualify for State as Level 7 Gymnasts

Three local girls have qualified for state competition as Level 7 gymnasts from Gem City Gymnastics and Tumbling in Quincy.

The three Quincy girls, Haley Woodyard, age 10,  Ava Winking, age 10, and Elise Hammock, age 11, will compete in state competition April 1 through April 3 in DeKalb, Illinois.

The gymnasts each competed in up to nine invitational meets from October of last year through February of this year and each qualified by earning an all-around score of 34.5 or higher.  If these girls should qualify at the state meet, they will advance to the regional competition May 6 through May 8 in Michigan.

Gem City Gymnastics and Tumbling competes for USA Gymnastics (USAG). The girl’s gymnastics team coaches are Jacob Huff, Hope Huff and Kiki Backoff.
