After a 33 year run, the annual Shelbyville Shrimpboil will come to an end after this month's event on September 28.Having attended this event in the past, I think there will be quite a few people who won't be happy with this news. The news of this being the final year of the Shrimpboil was announced on Facebook.

Listed below is what was posted on their Facebook page.

"What a ride!
Well folks, it has come time for the Shrimpboil to take the well deserved rest it’s earned. This will be our last one. Are the Moonshiners folding? No. Will we still have events at the hall? Yes. The boil in its current form is all that’s ending. We can’t thank everyone enough who’s come out over the years and I think anyone would agree 33 years is a damn good run!

Now that we have all that out of the way, here’s what you need to know for this year. There will still be all the shrimp, fish, pulled pork and fixings you can eat while it lasts. There will be all the beer you can drink. There will be limited liquor while it lasts and no frozen drinks. Because of this we have dropped the price to $40 per person and as always, no one under 21 allowed. We will be featuring the band BootCut playing country and rock. There will still be free primitive camping and $10 for campers. Golf tourney is a go as usual.

Now, you know we’re going to end this with the bang! So come on out and let’s give the Boil the send off it deserves!

Thanks!"
