Looks like the vacant theater inside the Quincy Mall will be seeing new life in the near future.

We are finally getting some good news about the Quincy Mall. According to KHQA, an unnamed company has signed an agreement to re-open the theater by this summer. The mystery company will remain such until everything is signed off. The former three-screen AMC location closed in January.

I’m really looking forward to having the theater re-opened, but I do have some questions. Are they going to show the same movies and directly compete with the AMC 6 across the street? Are they going to show independent films and/or lesser known movies that people in the community might not otherwise get a chance to see? And how are they going to measure up when it comes to price?

As a mom of two, I know I’m always looking for good deals when it comes to going to the theater. In any case, I’m excited to see what the new owners have in store for the theatre. Can’t wait until summer!
