Construction has started on the new St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station, and even though it won't open until 2019, it already looks amazing!

A video, voiced by legendary St. Louisan John Goodman (born in Affton, Missouri), gives a glimpse of what to expect when the aquarium does open. The $45 million project, designed to spruce up historic Union Station in downtown St. Louis, has been in the works for some time.

After several store and restaurant closings left the once booming Union Station practically empty, Lodging Hospitality Management (LHM), owner of St. Louis Union Station, announced it was teaming up with PGAV Destinations to design the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station.

Here's the video that will give you a glimpse of what to expect. I'm looking forward to having another family-fun spot to spend then day (bonus points for being educational).

If you would like to be updated of the aquarium's progress, you can sign up for email updates and if you are interested in working at the aquarium, when they start hiring, sign up here. The aquarium will be open all year from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
