I've long made a joke of referring to the Old K-Mart in Quincy as "The Old K-Mart." Jokingly implying that it has permanently closed, despite being still being open and operational by all accounts. We've even referred to it as "The building in the Taco Truck's/Shaved Ice Shack's parking lot," and mentioned that it may be haunted, as that's the only logical explanation for seeing what look like people there. They're obviously ghosts.

Well, those will soon fade from jocularity and become scientific fact, as Sears Holding, which owns K-Mart, has filed for bankruptcy protection, and announced the 2018 Sears/K-Mart death-list. Our beloved Old K-Mart is on the list. Our Sears had already been shuttered earlier this year.

This comes hot on the heels of me finding out the Little Caesar's inside the K-Mart closed. Which apparently happened several months ago. I was shocked by the news, because I was just in there two years ago and it was still open. I don't know what happened.

According to the Business Insider, the stores will be closed by the end of the year, with liquidation sales kicking off immediately. Which is good, because I need a new computer like right now.
