The Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County will once again host the annual Woodland Cemetery Tours on Saturday, November 1. Tours will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., and beginning every 15 minutes from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost of the tour is $10 per person, and $6.00 for Historical Society members.  Admission can be paid at the cemetery on November 1, or in advance at the Historical Society Visitor's Center, next to the John Wood Mansion at 12th and State.

Since this event is nearly always a sell out, reservations are highly recommended, and can be made by phone by calling the Historical Society at 222-1935 during office hours of 10 to 2, Tuesday through Friday.

As in past years, the tours will start from the patio to the south of the maintenance building at 1020 South 5th. Each tour takes from 40 minutes to an hour, and is conducted primarily along paved or bricked roadways. However, the terrain of the cemetery is uneven, and visitors are encouraged to wear sturdy walking shoes, and bring along a flashlight, if touring after sunset.
