Move over Halloween! It's Christmas time! Okay, I know we have to get through Thanksgiving first, but I just LOVE this time of year. So when I saw the theme for this year's Hannibal Jaycees Christmas Parade, I kinda freaked out a little.

This year's theme is a "Seussical Christmas" with everything themed in the style of Dr. Seuss characters. And I could not be more excited. My favorite author is the theme of the parade celebrating and my favorite holiday. I hope it's as incredible as it is in my head right now. I mean c'mon, what's not to love? The parade will take place December 1 in downtown Hannibal beginning at 6:00 pm in the Save-a-Lot parking lot on Broadway. The parade route turns left from there and heads down North Main Street.

If you are looking for some ideas for this year's parade, you know I have a few. You could obviously do anything from The Grinch (that's gonna be a popular theme). You can pick from any of his wonderful books, including my ultimate favorite Green Eggs and Ham. There's also "Thing One" and "Thing Two" from The Cat In The Hat or something form Horton Hears A Who! Just use your imagination and be creative with it.

If you are interested in participating in the parade, please contact the Jaycees Parade Chairperson, Bobi Mathews at 573-795-5299 or bobi.mathews63401@gmail.com.  More information will be released closer to the event at www.HannibalJaycees.org.
