Last Tuesday was a very sad day for the City of Quincy and the area as well as we lost Harold Knapheide III.  Mr. Knapheide was a true ambassador for the City of Quincy, but better yet he was a kind, thoughtful and generous man.

His philanthropic activities were way too many to mention. He wouldn’t want me to mention them anyway and that statement in itself described just who he was.

To many people, he was just known as “Knap” and I am proud to say I was one of them.  Harold Knapheide ran his family business with dignity and concern for his employees, several of them I know personally.

Never did they have a bad word to say about their boss. As a matter of fact they went out of their way to tell me just how good he was to work for.  He was good to them as he was to Quincy and the area and he will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Knapheide family.  So long “Knap”!  Thanks for making all of our lives better!
