World War One

It was the 11th hour of the 11th day on the 11th month when World War One finally came to an end.  It was called Armistice Day and still is by many although most people call it Veterans Day now.  Friday in honor of Veterans Day, the Illinois Veterans’ Home in Quincy will hold its Annual Veterans Day Program.

Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day in the United States. There will be ceremonies all across this great country of ours. What makes this country great are all the freedoms each and every one of us have thanks to our Veterans. So when the opportunity presents itself to thank a veteran please do...

I had the honor, and I do mean honor, of being the Master of Ceremonies for yesterday's Veterans Day program at the Illinois Veterans Home. To hear the stories and to see the Veterans in attendance was quite remarkable.
