Spring Training

It's not Spring...yet. But, one of the signs that it isn't far off just happened today. Video shows the St. Louis Cardinals trucks leaving St. Louis and heading to Florida for spring training.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced Friday that individual tickets for Spring Training games at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter, Florida will go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday, January 8.

It is always a great sign of Spring being around the corner as Major League Baseball teams begin training camps this week in Florida and Arizona.

To say Mother Nature has not been nice to us this winter is an understatement. It is long past time to see some signs of spring and one of those signs will come on Sunday when baseball returns to radio.

With Winter Weather Advisories seemingly daily around here lately, there is no better time than now to let you know that Major League Baseball Pitchers & Catchers are reporting to Spring Training today.

In a true sign that Spring is not that far away, the Major League Baseball Spring Training camps open this week in Florida and Arizona.

It is a true sign of spring when Major League Baseball teams arrive for Spring Training in Florida and Arizona. Such is the case for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and the Kansas City Royals next week.

To baseball fans and people wanting winter to come to an end, Major League Baseball teams begin arriving for Spring Training this and next week starting with the Arizona Diamondbacks pitchers and catchers arriving today.

So here it was, Sunday afternoon and I was home watching the snow pile up and listening to the Cardinal game on KHMO from spring training in Jupiter, Florida.  How weird was that?  I'm shoveling my driveway while Mike Shannon was doing the play-by-play of the Cardinals-Mets game in 90 degree temperatures.

If you ever get the chance to go to Spring Training, whether it be the St. Louis Cardinals, the Chicago Cubs, or any other Major League Baseball team, you should make the trip. I just returned from my second Spring Training venture in 3 years through Destination Travel and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.
