It's almost the time of year when this type of sighting will be much more common. New video just shared shows what some call 'an 8-legged freak' crossing the road near Bull Shoals Lake in Missouri.

There's a reason why I tend not to travel to the southern parts of Missouri during the late summer and early Fall months. It's because of an annual nature tradition where you'll soon see hordes of 8-legged freaks crossing the roads in that part of the Show Me State.

My dad used to tell me not to worry about tomorrow because today has enough worries. This issue is not a today thing, but boy could it become a conversation in the future. It's a mammoth invasive spider that is spreading like wildfire in the direction of Missouri, but there's not really a reason to worry even when/if it arrives.

I'm not really afraid of anything with one big exception - spiders. That's why I'm not convinced that Missouri's largest spider is truly a big ole cream puff even though the "experts" are trying to convince me it's true.

Are you tired of the latest internet best of list? I've found something interesting about a Missouri place that was recently named the 2nd safest city in the state. I think the word "safe" might be questionable as I've since learned that it's also home to just about every snake and snake imaginable. Oh, and it's got lots of possums, too.
