There are a number of new COVID-19 cases to report around western Illinois and northeast Missouri.

For those dealing with Alzheimer ’s disease in their family a new concept called the Memory Café is being established in Quincy.

The Adams County Health Department, along with the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), is recommending an annual flu vaccination for everyone 6 months and older. The flu vaccine is available Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 4 pm. The Health Department will also be offering several public flu clinics for adults and children in the community.

The YWCA of Quincy will be holding their annual “Voice for All Women” event at the Oakley-Lindsay Center in Quincy on Friday, April 22 with doors opening at 6 p.m.

Meals on Wheels has an event coming up on Thursday, December 18, 2014.

There will be two open house events involving the Alzheimer's Association this Wednesday. The first one is an 'Open House' for the public from 11 to 2.

The American Business Woman’s Association’s indoor garage sale will be held on Saturday, August 23rd at the Quincy Senior Center at 639 York Street in Quincy.

(QUINCY)—Quincy Police are warning of another scam. Police say they’ve received reports from elderly citizens complaining of calls from someone claiming to be from the “Senior Center” and telling people they’re eligible for a free Life Line and three thousand dollars in food coupons...

The Adams County Health Department will once again be offering flu shots. Flu vaccines are available during regular Immunization Clinic hours which are Mondays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The flu shots will also be available Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Director of Administrative Services, Glenda Hackemack and the West Central Area Agency on Aging want to remind everyone to check on their neighbors and especially the elderly during this period of extreme heat.
