Mike Matheny

It is amazing how this season is paralleling the 2014 season for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 2014 the Cardinals were struggling like they are now.

St. Louis Cardinal Manager Mike Matheny will be in Quincy this Sunday at GameMasters signing autographs for Cardinal fans. Matheny's appearance will be from 6 to 8 p.m.

In all my years of playing baseball, every winning team I was on seemed to have one or two guys who had that spark or edge about them when they played. Usually it was a player, but sometimes the manager was the person that lit the fire for the team. With that said, the St. Louis Cardinals had better find that person soon or they will be home watching the playoffs in October.

Ok, so the St. Louis Cardinals will have the home field advantage throughout the National League playoffs.  Is it an advantage if Edward Mujica is on the mound? Should Mujica be on the playoff roster?  That's the number one question in St. Louis and I wouldn't want to be Cardinal Manager Mike Matheny who will be making that decision.
